Trend Edit: Rita Ora In This Seasons Statement Jumper

Submitted by on Tuesday, 15 October 2013 | No Comment

The trusted winter woolly has had a style upheaval, and the statement jumper is now a must in your autumn/winter wardrobe. With examples set by celebrities and designers, there’s no shortage of inspiration.

Whether it’s experimenting with colour, print, pattern, texture, slogans, whatever you prefer, there’s a statement style to suit you and your personality. With the added bonus of being irresistibly warm and cosy, you can’t really go wrong.

Rita Ora caused a sartorial stir with the bold (and rather rude) statement she had splashed across her jumper, which she aimed at the paparazzi with a cheeky pose.

However, naughty knitwear aside, you can also choose to take a cue from the designers who made jumpers a main feature on their runways with bright colours and directional printed designs. For example, Givenchy sent this jumper down their runway, featuring a distorted abstract bambi print. I don’t get it either, but it looked cool.

Wear the Trend:

Here’s StyleCLone’s pick of statement jumpers fresh from the high street and ready to wear:

1.

This jumper from Topshop is pixelated cuteness, so wear it with a leather look skirt, thick tights and gorgeous heeled suede ankle boots to give it a little edge.

2.

This jumper from River Island is the definition of statement. The bright pink and abstract pattern vie for your attention, so tone down the look with an acid wash midi skirt and patent black rucksack.

This is another River Island jumper, but this time in a prim and proper pastel pink with an embellished necklace collar. Team it with this metallic skirt and black courts for a different take on evening glam.

How will you wear yours?
