Actress Selma Blair joins the FAA

Fashion retailer H&M joins a worthy cause, as their new Spring Collection helps to stress the importance of safe sex and prevention of HIV and AIDS.

Known as the ‘Fashion Against AIDS Collection’ (FAA), actors, actresses, singers and designers are all eager to get this important message across to young people around the world, and with this Unisex range hitting stores this month, the working relationship with Designer’s Against AIDS (DAA), 25% of sales are being donated to their project.

Supporter of the cause, actress Selma Blair said, “I think it’s really fitting that this collection is androgynous in style since the disease affects both men and women.  It’s a disease that can be avoided and it’s especially tragic when our ignorance keeps us from safety”.

Artist Akon is also behind the campaign and reveals a personal connection to the cause.  “I’ve had a lot of friends who’ve been in the situation where their friends and family have been affected by HIV.  It’s not like we have a cure for HIV, we only have prevention.”

Having such stars involved with FAA means their fan base is notified of the cause through their idols and the advice and knowledge about the disease can be made more global.

As Selma says, “It’s a universal thing and we are all in this together”.

From April 26^th the line will be available online and in stores from April 28^th.
