Designer Tom Ford created some amazing designs whilst working for Gucci and YSL so it was a shock to those that knew his work when he left their creative forces.  But if you look out for the December issue of Vogue, you will see that Tom is back with a new 2011 spring collection for women.

This range is promised not to be like your ordinary collection of designs that follow the latest trends.  Ford says: “It’s about individuality.  Real clothes, real women.  I don’t think fashion has to change every five minutes.  I’d like these to be clothes you can wear for a long time – ten, 20 years; pass on to your daughter.”

Doesn’t he make a great point?  Not everyone likes to wear the same thing as being individual with your clothes is important (especially for his targeted 25-75-year-olds) and here’s your chance to draw some more inspiration for your own look.  Try some of the 70’s inspired designs and mix them with a classic piece to create a modern look, or an electric blue dress as a strong, prime colour for your ‘centre-of-attention’ piece.

The only down side is that this range isn’t available until next year so keep an eye out for an update on this business venture.  In the meantime, buy the latest edition of Vogue to see the exclusive pictures of what’s to come.  You’ll even pick up great fashion tips for future reference, as these wise words came from the new “Mr Ford” himself: “Why buy vintage when you can open your own closet!”
