This season’s must have piece has got to be the cape. Seen all over the runway for Autumn/Winter 2010, these are the perfect way to look cover up, yet still stay chic. There are so many shapes and styles of capes available on the high street, so which one is right for you?

The Classic Cape

If you’re after something understated, then classic black is for you. Simple and sophisticated, the black capes will flatter any figure and go with everything in your wardrobe. If you still want a classic shape, but something more mature, then why not go for a tweed or dogtooth patterned wool cape? These are perfect for the more demure outfit, and great for channeling the ladylike trend this season.

The Camel Cape

Anyone who is anyone is wearing camel at the moment! Camel has to be one of the biggest trends this season, and its no surprise! A perfect shade for winter, that goes with absolutely anything, camel instantly injects oodles of style into any outfit. Throw one of these gorgeous capes on and you’ll be bang on trend!

The Bright Cape

If you’re after something a little different, then why not opt for a pop of colour?  Not for the faint hearted, these bright capes are show stopping and great for jazzing up simplistic looks. Perfect for quirky girls who aren’t afraid to stand out! Go for a cherry red a la Little Red Riding Hood for a bright, youthful look.

The Fur Trimmed Cape

Finally, if you want to beat the chill once and for all, then a faux fur trimmed cape is for you. They will keep you snug as a bug, yet still sleek and fashion forward. A military style cape looks especially cool with the fur trim, similar to the shearling aviator jackets seen on the catwalk. These are a great investment for the cold weather to come!

Which style of cape will you be wearing?
