Nicole Richie: Jewellery and Shoe Designer…What Will Be Next?

Nicole RichieWhether you think Nicole Richie is a style icon or not there is no escaping that her new venture into fashion designing is certainly getting her some attention. We have already seen her sporting her line of headbands and jewellery, but the star has now been linked to designing her own fabulous footwear. It is reported by WWD that she will be partnering with manufacturers who produce Modern Vintage shoes and Earnest Sewn jeans to add a line of 20 shoe styles to her House of Harlow 1960 label for spring 2010, as well as bags, belts and small accessories.

Now, I am all for new styles and fashion to hit the shops but like any celeb setting up their own fashion venture, are we yet again going to see overpriced items of clothing? After checking out her current collection at shopkitson.com, the prices on some of the items seem mid priced to high end which is expected from our celebs turned fashion designers. However, it does make you think that if consumers are cutting back on spending are they likely to buy something from Nicole Richie’s collection or will they opt for the cheaper option from the highstreet?

My favourite from Nicole’s collection is the House of Harlow 1960 – Pave Thick Antique Stack Ring: $48 (£34)
however if you’re wanting something a little on the cheaper side then check out this cool find from Miss Selfridges’ Gold Huge Beaten Bangle: £18
