Helen Bonham Carter Poses for Marc Jacobs AW11 Campaign: Gives Fashion a Whole New Meaning!

Last week images of Helen Bonham Carter’s images were plastered all over the fashion world as she posed for Marc Jacobs Autumn/Winter 2011 campaign.  Helen is known for her quirky and eccentric style which is often criticised by many in the fashion world but we love her for her uniqueness, so you can imagine we were excited when we saw shots of her in the Marc Jacobs campaign.

The photo shows Helen lying on her back on a white rug wearing a champagne-pink scallop-edged dress from Marc Jacobs’ AW11 collection, her legs bent out and back like some sort of mermaid.

However, she is back again and this time she is playing up to the camera’s even more.

The second photo for the campaign is shot by Juergen Teller, Marc Jacobs old friend and shows Helen in a clown like pose with circles and dots drawn on her face.  She is wearing polka dot coat from the label’s AW11 collection with a spotted bag over her shoulders.  And if the photo couldn’t get even more clown like Helen was wearing a donut shaped hat to finish off the look.

This is definitely a far cry from the current picture perfect fashion campaigns we see.  Everything airbrushed, pristine and should I say normal.  However, I think Marc Jacobs has done a fantastic job of getting Helen Bonham Carter involved in the campaign to show us the quirky side of the brand.

It definitely looks like everyone must have had lots of fun shooting the campaign, however I wonder how it will be seen across the fashion world.  Will they love it or hate it?  What do you think?  Leave your thoughts below or post it on Facebook!
