Victoria Beckham launches S/S11 collection at New York Fashion Week
If, like me, you just can’t get enough of the show reports from this years New York Fashion Week, you will already be familiar with the success that Victoria Beckham enjoyed after launching her SS/11 collection.
Taking place at a breakfast presentation, Victoria’s collection for Spring/Summer 2011 recieved a rapturous reception and glowing reviews. Victoria herself has said that the collection is a celebration of the womanly body, which was clear in her flatteringly slick 60’s inspired mini dresses and flowing evening gowns.
Dressed in a sophisticated black dress with cinched in waist, Victoria gave a running commentary on her collection which kicked off with an ultra-violet parachute silk dress. The collection of colourful pieces focused heavily on details and textures in the form of exposed zips, seam details, asymettrical lining and heavy structuring.
A strong talking point of the collection were Victoria’s new handbag designs, specifically the aptly named ‘Victoria Bag,’ and a black structed overnight bag.
Her most recent collection has seen Victoria recieve some of the biggest praise in her designing career, showing that she really knows what she’s doing and is quickly on her way to being one of the biggest fashion designers in the world.
