Street Style: Romance And Roses As Seen On Naomi

A massive trend on the High Street at the minute is romance. Whether its in the form of florals, sheer fabrics or pinky nudes, our shops are awash with romantic pieces, just in time for Spring.

In the last Street Style post, I showed you how to mix up your florals with grungy pieces for a harder look, like the gorgeous Sarah. If you missed it, take a look HERE! If that look was too daring for you, then why not keep your florals soft like the lovely Naomi here?

Naomi wears a chunky knit cardigan, floral dress and brogues by Topshop and a satchel bag by Urban Outfitters.

To achieve Naomi’s “English Rose” look, you’ll need a gorgeous floral dress in pastel shades. Think light cottons, chiffons and silk for a soft, whimsical feel. Team with an oversized cardigan in a pale grey or nude shade to complement the pale colours in the dress. Keep accessories to a minimum. Stick to some simple black brogues and a black satchel bag. For colder days, opt for some black opaque tights to finish the look off.

For a night time take on Naomi’s look, go for one of this season’s staple pieces, the Bralet, which is a cross between a bra and a corset. These are a huge part of the Underwear as Outerwear trend that is big right now, and they are perfect for the romance trend also. Here I’ve stuck to the pastel colour palette again, with ditsy florals and pretty details. Wear one of these with a full skirt, again in a soft shade. Go for feminine frills and chiffon underskirts to add volume. Finally add some nude heels and dainty frilled ankle socks for a girly, doll like twist.
