Spring/Summer 2010: Season Of Luxe Leather

Submitted by on Sunday, 31 January 2010 | One Comment

A new year brings with it new trends, and as we enter the spring/summer fashion season one of the big trends to latch onto is the leather look.

Celebrities Who Love Leather

Celebrities are embracing the luxe leather trend with passion already this year and doing it with impressive style.

Earlier on this year Drew Barrymore sported a gorgeous leather zip-up dress to the ‘Whip It’ film premiere in LA and star of the hit show ‘The City’ Olivia Palmero is obviously a huge fan of the trend as she has been seen showing off multiple ‘all weather leather’ items this month.

Embrace the Leather Trend

For the bravest of fashion followers there are impact items that can be dressed up or dressed down. Leather jackets are timeless pieces and, whilst some may consider these to be expensive they must be seen as an investment, much like buying a leather sofa, and they only get better with wear.

For the more cautious of us that fear recreating the infamous leather trouser scene from Friends, there are mix and match pieces as well as numerous accessories that can be used to get the look on a smaller scale.

Steal the Leather Look

Topshop Blazer – £140 and New Look Gloves – £12

£140 statement blazer from Topshop.

Leather and suede mix gillets from Topshop cost £95 but will literally go with anything and these £12 leather gloves by Newlook will keep your hands warm and stylish through the coming months.

Whatever your size or age there is a leather item waiting in store for you, just keep it classy and, unless you’re Britney Spears cerca the year 2000, stay well clear of the cat suits.
