Steal Selena’s red carpet style as she posed for the cameras expertly at the recent MTV awards. She gets points for daring, sexy style while still keeping it classy.

Selena Gomez looked incredible at the MTV Awards in this midnight blue full length dress with thigh high split and bustier detail underneath.

The raunchiness of the bustier and thigh high split were downplayed by the long sleeves, the floor length skirt and subtle colour of the dress. She ticked all the right boxes , looking glamorous but still youthful and trendy. The green earrings added a fun pop of colour to the grown-up look.

The singer kept her hair and make-up classically done with black eyeliner, deep pink lips and straight, super glossy hair.

Here’s how you can recreate Selena’s glamorous evening look:

Selena’s dress is a limited edition designer piece, so here at StyleClone we have decided to take inspiration from this and create a look you, our lovely readers, can actually go out and wear.  This satin and velvet bustier from Topshop has great contrast detail and forms the statement piece of the outfit. Wear it with this midnight blue maxi skirt, also from Topshop, which has a side split and slim fit to achieve that slinky, evening silhouette.

These pointed nude heels from Office will give you some height; the colour doesn’t take away from the rest of the outfit but also looks a bit more interesting than black. For that splash of colour, these jewelled, green, art-deco style earrings from Asos are perfect and look lovely with the green tones in this embellished clutch from River Island to complete the outfit.

Grab your straighteners and practice your eyeliner feline flicks to add the finishing touches and be the belle of the ball on your next night out.
