Steal her Style: Lily Collins on a Night Out in London

Lily Collins is causing a storm as a relative newbie to the fashion scene, already appearing on the cover of Glamour magazine as well as Nylon, Seventeen and Fashion magazines.

Lily Collins wore this outfit on a night out in London, opting for pared down drama in a dark, sexy look. You need body confidence by the bucket load to pull this look off, daring to bare your tummy in a crop top as well as pulling off some high impact leather trousers. But, if you do have the confidence, this outfit is really striking for a night out, as although it bares some belly, the trousers and minimal fuss over hair and make-up give this look a refined edge.

The leather trousers fit loosely with a tapered bottom for a tailored but not figure hugging look, which works with the crop top to create a peek-a-boo effect, where you get a cheeky glimpse but not flashing too much. The trousers also have a green tint, which gives the outfit a slightly different look and keeps her out of an all black ensemble. The gold clutch breaks up the dark outfit and adds a touch of glamour.

Here is how to steal Lily Collins’ Style with my high street picks:

The leather trousers are from Topshop and are black instead of green, but you still have that colour contrast with the teal crop top  to keep the outfit interesting. As the trousers are such a strong look, the simple jersey and capped sleeves of the crop top from H&M keep it toned down. For some night time glamour add black skyscraper heels from New Look (practice makes perfect, you need to strut in these shoes not stumble!).

The gold boxy clutch from River Island can hold your essentials as well as giving the outfit some sparkle. Lily doesn’t wear any jewellery with this outfit, but I’ve added a statement gold leaf necklace from Asos for some sparkle. Take inspiration from Lily’s make-up with this red lipstick in a bold matte colour.

What do you think of Lily’s take on leather?
