The Best and the Worst of the Oscars 2009
Ah the Oscars, never mind the awards, the real show was on the red carpet taking its form of gowns, tuxedos and egos.
Despite the credit crunch, stars were still dressed up in outfits that we would have to mortgage our houses for, but if we were in the grasps of a Chanel dress, then we’d probably do the same.
Kicking off with one of the best dressed is fashionista Sarah Jessica-Parker, she looks classic in a very ballerina-esque gown from Dior’s haute collection. However, we feel there’s little she could wear that would make her look bad being the icon she is.
One of the first onto the red carpet teeny bopper Miley Cyrus over-dresses in her heavy Zuhair Murad dress that has so many layers it looks a bit like the side of a fish. She should have taken note of how Anne Hathaway did it.
Like a vision of ivory elegance Anne Hathaway had stunning written all over her with her Armani Prive gown covered in Swarovski crystals making her shimmer and glow all the way down the carpet.
We expected better from Heidi Klum…she stepped onto the red carpet like fashion road kill. Showing off her legs in a Roland Mouret disaster dress that should never have seen the light of day. She also overdid it with chunky jewellery which just made every inch of the image scream ‘NO!’…At least her shoes matched the dress.
Heidi Klum:
The ever gorgeous Robert Pattinson looked like every girls dream in a debonair Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo, teamed with black brogues he was very reminiscent on old school Hollywood.
Putting nearly every man who’s ever worn a tuxedo to shame, Brad Pitt donned a classic and gorgeous Tom Ford suit with his only accessories being some designer stubble and his unbeatable charm.
Now that you have seen some good, some bad, and some ugly, you can start to scan the shops for Oscar night inspired dresses and tux’s, they’ll be a sure hit for any glamorous party.
