Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen pick up the Womenswear Designer of the Year award
Actresses turned fashion designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen scooped a top award at the recent CFDA Awards ceremony.
The twins picked up the award for Womenswear Designer of the Year, beating off stiff competition from the likes of Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler.
The pair wore their own designer dresses, from their label The Row, to the ceremony and thanked each-other in their acceptance speeches.
Other winners on the night included Billy Reid for Menswear Designer of the Year and Reed Krakoff for Accessories Designer of the Year. British shoe designer Tabitha Simmons scooped the Swarovski Awards for Emerging Talent for accessories, and as if that wasn’t enough, Emma Watson was recently spotted in a pair of the designer’s strappy sandals.
Do you think the Olsen twins deserved to pick up the award? We certainly do, as they’ve really cemented themselves as established designers.
