Back when there was still frost bite on our toes and we were wrapped up warm in scarves and gloves, we brought you the news of Primark’s Spring 2011 Campaign, and we promised you that Summer would be here before you knew it…and we were right!

Can you believe that it’s only April and already the Sun is shining hotter than ever? We were expecting nasty April showers, but instead we’re basking in glorious sunshine already! This is the right time then, to introduce you to Primark’s Summer 2011 campaign, that has been causing quite a stir in the fashion world!

Luxury, Colour Popping and amazing designer copies sprang to mind when we first saw this collection. We couldn’t believe that this collection could ever be from Primark! We love the bright colour pops, reminiscent of Jil Sander, and the fruity patterns courtesy of Stella McCartney, but most of all we adore the Marc Jacob’s inspired colourful stripes! That’s not to say that Primark have completely ripped off our beloved designers, they’ve simply taken inspiration from them and brought it to the high-street for us!

A great example of colour popping comes from the outfit below. The gorgeously bright pink Pocket Tee contrasts beautifully with the bright blue trousers and red wedges. Perfect for the summer and perfect for our bank balances as the prices start at just £10 for the tee, £15 for the trousers and £20 for the shoes! Don’t worry if you aren’t brave enough to mix so many colours as you can always use one or two items to complete a look, or even rely on a trust brightly coloured accessory like the oversized clutch bag, £6.

The maxi skirt is huge every year and we love the clever Colour Block Maxi Skirt which is already in stores for £16. The turquoise Curve Hem Shirt, £10 can be worn with absolutely anything. Try it with a pair of shorts or a shorter skirt if maxi’s aren’t your thing!

As we mentioned earlier, Primark have worked wonders with stripes for this collection. In particular, we love the gorgeous Striped Maxi Dress, £23, which is in stores now. It’s not only extremely simple but it’s also elegant and feminine and can be worn casually as well as dressed up. Another big contender is the Colour block Midi Dress, £17, which is full of glorious coloured stripes, a cute side bow and a draped neck line. It’s the perfect Summer dress.

If you want to go for the Tropical look this Summer, you can do so with the Lemon Print Sundress that is just £9 and is already in store. The gorgeous fruity prints were seen on the run-way of Stella McCartney and were an instant hit. We’ve not seen such a pattern on our high-street before so make use of it, as it’ll really make you stand out.

Primark have also incorporated Vintage and 50’s style pieces into the collection with a 50’s style skirt, £16 and a Limited Edition Vintage Lace Dress for just £25. The boho festival look is also very dominant, with the use of tassels, fringing and feathers in shorts, tops and accessories.

The collection has already started filtering into stores and will continue to do so up until June, so make sure you get your favourite pieces first!
