Have A Royal Wedding Tea Party!

So the royal wedding is only around the corner, and the theme of home parties at the moment is definitely a tea party! If you don’t fancy going all out for a street party then this is a great alternative, turn on your TV, dress up all fancy, feast on scones and cupcakes with commemorative crockery and other royal inspired home treats. You can go all out with special royal wedding items that will remind you of the day, or a bit more general with a British theme, which is also a great idea with St. George’s day being not too far away.

Right, let’s get you started. To begin with we definitely recommend a good cake stand! We have seen proper ones out there with the happy couple’s faces on, but as you then can only use it that once as such and wouldn’t have it on display like you would a plate, then maybe an eco friendly cardboard one is the way to go! You can use and recycle these, but as they are not technically aimed at Wills and Kate you could use this again for very British fancy days. You get a pack of 2 two-tier cupcake stands with a very cheerful regal design. Get the for £8.99 from Party Delights.

Paper seems to be a popular party favourite at the moment, I’ve just come across these great paper cups that could easily fit in with your fancy tea party theme. With gorgeous detail it’s a far cry from the boring plain ones you usually get from parties, and even better they will go nicely with your cake stands, perfect! Coming in packs of 12 they will be perfect for lemonade or even a cheeky royal cocktail! £3.49 from The Contemporary Home.

OK we seem to have a serious eco friendly theme here. Look at this brilliant royal wedding bunting! Gorgeous and very on trend with the floral and gingham it can be used proudly through out the summer. While of course we are hoping for glorious sunshine, it is shower proof so should it happen to drizzle, then it should survive, hurrah! It’s 5 meters long with 16 pennants, all very British and perfect for afternoon teas, barbeques and even up in your room when summer is over. £8.99 from Woolworths.

Want Wills and Kate to come along to your party? Well now they can! OK so this one is a little bit out there….but it is actually quite good so we will let it slide, you can even involve it in some party games. Buy your own cut-out of the happy couple. It will certainly be a talking point. Pin the crown on the King anyone? £29.96 from Party Explosion.

A tea party simply cannot exist without biscuits, it’s fact. And while Prince William is partial to a Rich Tea, we think these hand-made and gorgeously decorated ones are the way to go! They come in a limited edition tin designed specifically for this occasion, and come with 16 biscuits such as a wedding cake, glass coach, royal crown, wedding dress, engagement ring and many more! A great royal treat and should be on everyone’s table this April 29th. £39.50 from Not On The Highstreet.

And of course, a tea party just won’t happen with – a teapot! Even if you don’t drink tea yourself, you can put hot chocolate in it, but you have to have one present or the whole theme will be off. I have yet to find a tea pot with their faces on that I absolutely love, but this one is beautifully patriotic without being too overbearing, it could easily be used for normal tea parties or even at the breakfast table, but make sure the first time you use it is on their wedding day, and it will be extra special £19.99 from English Heritage.
