Designer Derek Lam has teamed up with online auction site, eBay to launch an exclusive capsule collection.

The collection will be unveiled during New York Fashion Week 2011. After the unveiling, members of the public will be able to vote online for which items they think should be put into production in order to be sold on the site.

Talking about the collection, Lam said: “Having a direct and immediate dialogue with the online audience is what makes fashion exciting and relevant in this moment.”

Lam recently launched his Spring/Summer 2011 collection at this year’s New York Fashion Week which was full of minimalist, soft palette pieces that floated down the run way.
