As the MTV Video Music Awards 2011 took place on Sunday night at the Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles, Adele appeared at the award show representing the Brits. The singer joined a handful of other Brits on the red-carpet and racked up 3 moon-men in the process for Best Art Direction, Best Editing and Best Cinematography for her single ‘Rolling In The Deep’, which has been a huge success on both sides of the pond.

The young popstar appeared on the red-carpet looking absolutely gorgeous with a 60s style voluminous hair-do with loose curls and a simple, yet sophisticated black Burberry dress with statement coloured neckline.

Adele looked effortlessly chic and teamed the outfit with a pair of black tights and heels with simple gold trim. Not one to over do it, the singer went without accessories but did pull off a dark smoky-eye make-up look and nude lips.

2. Capezio Women’s Ultra Soft Transition Tight, $11.25
3. Avance Women’s Teleri Open-Toe Pump, $41.25

Adele has had huge success in the UK with her music career so it’s no surprise that she’s managed to break the US as well. After the release of her latest album ’21’ in the US, it rocketed into the Billboard charts and went straight to number 1 after selling 350,000 copies and achieving the biggest opening-week sales for any record, finally knocking teenage sensation, Justin Bieber, off the top spot.
