Welcome to my first ever Fashion and Style Weekly Round Up!
Sometimes there is not enough days in the week or even enough hours in the day to feed your fashion and style cravings. So instead of risking your daytime job and being caught by the boss as you trawl through some of your favourite fashion blogs, I have decided to give you a little helping hand. Every Friday I have made it my mission to offer all of you fashion loving people a Fashion and Style Weekly Round Up to feed those fashion fixes. As well as highlighting some of StyleClone’s most popular stories I will also be showcasing some interesting articles from across the fashion blogging globe so take a look below…
London Fashion Week Recap
I know it was ‘soo’ last month but it would appear that our fashion peeps have still been hot on their trails debating about London Fashion Week and the hot trends to come out from some of the hottest designers. The Women’s Room showed us some popular trends emerging from the catwalk that even some of us ‘ordinary folk’ could be wearing this Autumn/Winter. However, London Fashion Week just wouldn’t have been the same without some crowd pulling shockers from David Korma as he showcased some of his signature style of sculptural shapes and heavy embellishments.
Oscars Fashion Frenzy Starts Here!
There’s only a couple of days left before it’s show time at the Oscars, and like always it’s a chance for the fashion world to get a glimpse of what the celebrities are wearing down the red carpet. If you can’t wait until then, then check out Recessionista’s prediction for Oscar Winning gowns.
Winter is Almost Over!
I am so glad that the snowy and wintry weather is almost over and I can finally see some sunshine filtering in through my office window. When this happens it can only mean one thing…and that is, spring time is finally beckoning! It’s is time to ditch the winter wardrobe and splash out one some of the hottest Spring/Summer trends.
If you’re just not ready to part with your cash and hit the shops then Second City Style provides some helpful tips on how you can make the most out of spring using items still from your winter wardrobe. One of the hottest trends this Spring/Summer has got to the Jumpsuit, which can be worn day and night. Katy Perry and Rihanna have all been seen touting these trends, and even Budget Babe is talking about how Jumpsuits could be this year’s must-have trend. What do you think?
When it comes to your wardrobe, it not only your clothes that require a fashion make up, shoes also come within my list of a fashion re-jig. Like last year, ballerina pumps were all the rage and this year it seems the trend is still hot on it’s heels for the Spring/Summer. The Fashion Row, talks in great lengths about her love for Lanvin Patent Ballerina Flats in acid yellow to brighten up your wardrobe. However, it would appear that celebs are also loving the acid yellow shoe trend as Shoe’s for Women reveal on their blog. However, if your always on a hunt for a bargain then check out Viva Fashion Blog post on how you have recreate Christian Louboutins Ruffle Pumps look for less!
Style Confessions!
I would like to say that I am always girl which likes to take care of my appearance, however I have a confession to make! Throughout the winter my hands have been permanently glued to my gloves to cope with the frosty snow, however the other day I decide to unleash them and offer them a little sunlight, however underneath the exterior lied a shameless secret! My dry and unkept nails and hands. However, thankfully Style PA offered me some helpful advice and tips to tackle my unkept nails. So as we’re talking confessions I was surprised to hear one from Fashion Court as she revealed that her new found love is….(I’ll let you read more about that on her blog!)
Competitions Galore!
We always love winning something for free so that’s why I thought I would share some fantastic fashion competitions from across the fashion blogs.
Edible Stilettos? Ok, so my understanding has always been that ‘shoes are meant to be worn but not eaten’, however, distressing as that statement may sound, we’re not asking you to mow away at your favourite pair of Jimmy Choos. Instead Well Heeled Society are teaming up with edible cookie makers Kute Kouture Kookies a chance to win one dozen edible stilettos. It all sounds rather delicious to me! However, if you’re not into eating but rather than wearing you shoes then Become fashion and shopping blog are offering you a chance to win a $100 UGG Gift Certificate.
