Outfit Post: Red Hot Summer Wedding in Portugal
Remember me asking all you lovely readers what outfit Sara should wear to a wedding in Portugal? Well, soon after all of you helped me out of my fashion dilemma, I decided to pick outfit one (you can check out outfit one here if you don’t remember). Consisting of a red spotty dress with a navy and white nautical trim, the dress was perfect for a summer wedding in the Portuguese sun.
However, sometimes things don’t go according to plan. The dress which I originally picked was out of stock, but I managed to find an even cuter alternative from Zara. Check out my gorgeous little Sara in her special wedding outfit…

Still in keeping with the polka dot theme, the linen dress was cool and comfortable for the Portuguese sun. The last thing I wanted was a dress that was too faffy, meaning an outfit change later in the day. Instead, this dress not only offered the comfort but the lace detailing on the edges looked very pretty and added some character to the dress. That said, the dress still looked a little casual for a wedding so I decided to accessorise with red patent strappy sandals, a red velvet flowered headband and these adorable love heart shaped polka dot sunglasses.
Tip: Sara is a bit a nightmare when it comes to new shoes, so I let her get excited with her new red sandals by wrapping them up and revealing them! After a ‘wow’ and a gasp came from my little lady’s mouth I knew these were going to be her best friends for the duration of the day!
The headband and sunglasses didn’t last long but the dress was still in tact after Sara decided to have a go on the slide..
Tip: If you know that you’re going to have issues with a certain part of the outfit, mine was the headband then make sure you come equipped with alternatives. I had a cute red butterfly clip handy on standby just in case which stayed on throughout the day.
After picking Sara’s outfit, I wanted to co-ordinate our outfits to match hers. So here are some family snaps we managed to take.

The wedding itself felt like we were at a Portuguese Royal wedding as everything was planned to a tee. The setting, from the Church to the Reception was truly mesmorising. Here are some pictures to make you all feel a tad jealous!

The Portuguese sure know how to party and the wedding went on until 5am the next morning. We would have loved to stay but I suppose that’s the price you have to pay as a parent. Nonetheless, it was truly amaaaaaaazing wedding and experience.
What did you think of Sara’s final outfit? Do you prefer the original to this? Any tips of preparing your outfits for a wedding with kids? Mine would be to assess the weather and co-ordinate as a family as the pictures turn out great. Don’t you think?
