Cara Delevingne ‘Not A Model’ For H&M: Is Her Career Going Downhill?

H&M have disputed claims that Cara Delevingne is their face and seem unlikely to use her again. Could her scandalous photographs with a mysterious white packet be to blame?

In May, Cara Delevingne was photographed dropping  and a packet of an unknown white substance. Whilst she tried to hide it and pick it up, the packet was photographed quite clearly and since she hasn’t addressed the photographs since the incident, her risky stint may have cost her future H&M opportunities.

‘She is not a model with us and I think there was a misunderstanding that she was the face of H&M,’ the spokeswoman allegedly told the newspaper, adding: ‘We just used her for the show.’

Cara has modelled for various H&M campaigns, including for their Divided and Authentic collections. She also modelled for the brand’s first ever catwalk show during Paris Fashion Week. So why the sudden change of heart from H&M? Well H&M does have a very strict non-drug policy and even dropped Kate Moss in the past due to her scandal with cocaine.

“Our team will evaluate the evidence over the next few days. If the story is true, then we will take action,” is what H&M commented back in May. Could it be that they found the evidence too strong?

Are Drugs To Blame?

It’s not certain whether H&M are choosing not to work with Cara again because of the photographs but I will say that it does look a bit suspicious that Cara hasn’t commented or addressed the incident so far. We all love and adore her but I suppose the wrong photograph or wrong move can really have massive implications, especially if you’re meant to be seen as a role model around the world.

It’s possible that H&M are simply choosing to vary their models and not stick to using the same ones. This would be a reasonable explanation, especially as so many different models and celebrities have worked with the brand in the past, including Beyonce and Lana Del Rey.

Do you think Cara’s career is in jeopardy?
