Landing a starring role as Serena van der Woodsen in the hit US television series, Gossip Girl, was just the start of Blake Lively’s extraordinary journey to A-list celebrity. Blake is now a household name, an icon to teenage girls everywhere and a successful movie star after appearing in the likes of ‘Accepted’ and ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.’

If that wasn’t enough, the young actress has cemented herself as a style icon after she was picked to be the face of the new Chanel Mademoiselle Handbag. She’s now front row for all of the biggest fashion shows and is constantly snapped on the red carpet in the most glamorous outfits imaginable and now the actress shows off her credentials on the front-cover of Glamour magazine USA.

The magazine, which hits news-stands this month includes an in-depth interview with the star as well as a series of gorgeous editorial shots. Blake poses in a variety of different designer outfits including Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, Stella McCartney and Marc Jacobs.

Blake was interviewed by her best friend Florence Welch, who managed to get the actress to open up about her red carpet appearances and love for playing darker, more dramatic acting roles.

Talking about getting ready for red-carpet events, Blake said: “I like it to be easy. I don’t feel like I have to do so much with hair and makeup, because I’m the mannequin for these beautiful clothes, so I never want to do anything too distracting. Most of the time, I put my hair in a ballerina bun, and I take it down and it’s wavy, and then I leave. I feel shy when people are fussing on me. And my diet of choice before events is a chicken potpie from Tea & Sympathy, because they never have enough food at these things.”

Down-to-earth Blake also commented on being the new face of the Chanel Mademoiselle Handbag, saying: “It’s such an honor. When I found out I got [the job], you and I went to dinner and concocted this plan, like two little girls at a tea party, saying, “Oh, it would be the best if we had a party. And you’ll perform, and we’ll do it in Paris.” Like you and I were in charge of Chanel!”
