Kristin Cavallari isn’t the only celebrity combining the worlds of fashion and charity relief work.  Model Naomi Campbell has revealed her 2011 plans to hold a Fashion for Relief event in aid of earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan.

The event will take place during the Cannes Film Festival next month and all proceeds will go towards the charities and relief projects working to support and help rebuild the lives of those still suffering from the natural disaster.

She won’t be doing this alone, as Vogue editor Franca Sozzani will help her hold the event, with a fashion show and art auction on May 16th.

Naomi is no stranger to charity events.  In the past she has raised a sum of £4.5million for great causes, including last years Fashion for Relief catwalk show and Relief for Japan is next on the star’s agenda.

In the past, Naomi has also had the likes of Kate Moss and Annabelle Neilson on hand for help with fashion relief.  Last year the pair were pictured with Ms Campbell after holding the event in aid of earthquake victims in Haiti.  Mothers and babies in particular were the main beneficiaries from the Haiti proceeds and their health care was made vital thanks to the donations made.

“I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has generously donated their time and effort to make Fashion for Relief happen”, she stated last year, after the success of the fundraising event.

The Cannes Film Festival is an annual event that showcases the work of film makers, with their chance to win a short film competition on the day and be honoured in the opening and closing ceremonies throughout the 11 days.  The event is the 64th of the Cannes Festival’s and will take place between the 11th and 22nd of May.
