Blogger Style: MJ From ‘Dreaming Spires’

Another Blogger Style post means it’s time to introduce you to another lovely fashion blogger. Meet MJ, a Geology student and fashion blogger from the UK. MJ writes the blog ‘Dreaming Spires‘. She enjoys making her own clothes and is a coxswain for St Anne’s Boat Club, Oxford University. Her style is a great mix of all things comfy, classic, feminine and unique, with lots of vintage pieces thrown in for good measure.

She has challenged me to recreate one of her latest outfit post. I love the mix of textures in this look, with the leather trousers and knitted shawl. The colours work really well together and the peep toe boots finish the look off perfectly.

MJ wears a vintage scarf and leather trousers, a stripe top by H&M, and peep toe boots from Primark.

To recreate this look, start off with a pair of leather trousers in a mustard shade. If you haven’t got a leather pair, then go for corduroy or cotton in a similar style and shade. Turn the trousers up at the hem for more shape and interest, and pull on a breton stripe t shirt in navy blue and white. Slip on some black peep toe wedge boots for height, and finish off with a chunky floral knit shawl in complementary colours. This look is great for spring, and can be transformed for warmer weather by swapping the long sleeves for a camisole or bandeau, and changing the boots for sandals. The shawl is a must buy for spring/summer as it is the perfect accessory and cover up, and is oh-so versatile!

If you like MJ’s look, be sure to check out her blog for daily outfit posts showcasing her gorgeous style!
