Mulberry introduces Edie collection

The most heavenly of all bag designers, Mulberry have launched the new Edie Collection into the family as a pre Spring/Summer 2011 treat.

The collection is inspired by and named after ‘Little Edie,’ the star of the Grey Gardens documentary and film. The Edie bags are a hybrid creation of the brand’s famous and iconic Bayswater and Alexa styles and focuses on two sizes of shoulder bag. Both designs feature the signature Mulberry signature postman’s lock, as well as the versatile top handle and detachable strap combination similar to the Alexa. The relaxed slouch and choice of finishes ensure that the bag can be worn casually from day to day, or as a stand-out luxury piece.

Edie is available in a range of colours and materials. Heavy Grain leather in Powder Beige or Black, Sparkle Tweed in Oak and Patent in vibrant Electric Blue. It also comes in Haircalf in Light Peach for a luxuriously tactile and indulgent finish. For an added seasonal touch, Edie in Sparkle Tweed in Oak and Heavy Grain in Black come with a detachable guitar-style strap, featuring a jacquard ‘rabbits and roses’ print in keeping with our Spring Summer 2011 obsession with The Secret Garden and whimsical floral inspirations.

The Edie bags are bound to become a staple of the Mulberry brand. The bag is not only versatile and wearable but it’s classic and simple, great for every day, causal use. Quite frankly, we can’t wait to get our hands on one.
