The iconic 60s designer and face behind fashion phenomenon Biba, Barbara Hulanicki is bringing high fashion back to the highstreet…or even, the supermarket, with her brand new collection for George at ASDA, with prices starting from just £8.

The collection, which will be officially released on November 29th, will stay true to Hulanicki’s design philosophy of making high fashion affordable. Included in the 14 piece collection are the designers favourite prints, silhouettes and wardrobe essentials such as tailored trousers and palazzo pants, jersey tops and ruffled blouses as well as 70’s inspired mini and maxi dresses.

During the 1960’s, Hulanicki was one of the biggest names in fashion after founding her London clothes store, Biba, in 1964. It was just as famous for it’s affordable prices as it was for the big names, such as David Bowie and Mick Jagger, that were seen popping in and out. The store closed it’s doors in 1976 and was brought by the now highstreet giant, House Of Fraser.

Last year, the designer launched a new collection for Topshop which sold out in the blink of an eye. It’s great to see Hulanicki back where she belongs, bringing fabulous items to those that can’t bare the heavy price tags on wardrobe basics.
