Street Style: Ladylike Lace As Seen On Sarah

For me, lace is one of those fabrics that can instantly add interest to any outfit. It is busy enough to be just enough, but not so much that it is over-powering.
I spotted the lovely Sarah browsing at a local Vintage Fair the other day, sporting a gorgeous lace blouse and an Autumnal chunky cardigan. I love how this simple outfit is brought together with a splash of delicate lace and some lovely little vintage style necklaces. I also really like how the colours are kept to a minimum, sticking to black, whites and creams.

Sarah wears a cardigan by Primark, Blouse from H&M and Shoes bought at a market.

To recreate Sarah’s look, chose a really delicate lace blouse in cream or white and wear with some full length leggings. Team with an oversize, chunky knit cardigan in a similar shade. If you can’t find cream or white, then go for this season’s camel and stone shades. Wear some comfy black loafer style flats and a matching black cross body satchel bag, preferably vintage! Then finish off the look with strands of pearls and dainty cameo necklaces. Wear longer lengths of chains to elongate the body, mixed with shorter ones for a staggered look.

To mix the look up for an evening occasion, swap the leggings for some structured Peg Leg Trousers, and tuck the blouse inside for more of a polished feel. Stick with similar jewellery to maintain a girly, feminine look, but swap the flats for some statement heels, and the satchel for a chunky clutch bag. Wear your hair in a top knot and team with smokey eye make up for a sultry glamourous feel.
