Street Style: Eclectic Cool As Seen On Nicola
Today’s Street Style post features the lovely Nicola. I spotted her last week at one of my favourite shopping haunts, Preston Flea market. If you live in the North West and love all things vintage and quirky, then definitely visit Preston’s markets to rummage out a bargain!
Nicola caught my eye purely because she looked so interesting compared to the other shoppers. I love her mix of clashing prints and funky accessories. She pulls the look off perfectly. Clashing your prints has always been a daring thing to do in fashion, but done right it can look really fun and creative. I love Nicola’s whole look, everything from her vintage waistcoat to her gorgeous red hair!
Nicola wears a dress bought at a vintage shop on holiday in Iceland, a hat from Afflecks in Manchester and a bag found at Preston Market for just 50p!
To recreate Nicola’s look go for a printed collared shirt dress and team with a printed waistcoat in a clashing pattern and colour. Ream these with tights or leggings in black and add some brogues again in black. Keeping the legs and feet all one plain colour means all attention is on the prints of the rest of the outfit. Accessorise with a bowler hat for the ultimate in quirky cool!
For a different twist on the look, for those sunny days, why not try wearing a printed scarf rather than waistcoat, and swap tights and brogues for bare legs an sandals? Instead of a bowler hat, wear a straw boater to keep sun of your face and throw on some wayfarer style sunnies for an uber cool way to shield sun from those peepers. Opt for an oversize vintage style bag to carry all your belongings in, and you’re ready for a day in the sunshine!
