Cannes Film Festival 2011: Best Dressed Celebrities.
You may as well forget all other red carpet events that have already taken place this year because the Cannes Film Festival is the only place to spot gorgeous celebrity style in the glamorous surroundings of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrè, France.
The Cannes Film Festival is one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in the world and apart from the Oscars, it is the only place you will top Hollywood actors, actresses and celebrities dressed in their absolutely best gowns and suits. This years festival has been no exception, with hundreds of famous faces making their way down the red carpet in style.
We’ve kindly picked out the best dressed celebrities at this year’s festival and first up is Uma Thurman who looked absolutely glowing in two different white dresses. The first was a three quarter length sleeved, lace print Dolce & Gabbana which looked great in the glow of the sun, but she managed to kick it up a notch with another spectacular white gown in the evening. The actress changed into a slinky Versace strapless dress complete with full feather skirt detailing, bustier top and a thigh high split.
White seemed to be a popular colour against the gorgeous French sunshine as actress Rachel McAdams wore a stunning white Maxime Simoens shift dress with ruffled shoulder and waist detailing which she teamed with a pair of nude peep toe heels.
Salma Hayek was another lady who dazzled on the red carpet. She wore a stunning Gucci Première champagne silk georgette floor-length gown which was embellished with sequins, beads and of course, crystals. She wore her hair to the side in a cascade of waves and accessorized the dress with silver earrings and a Gucci satin clutch bag.
Amongst all the glitz and glamour, Angelina Jolie kept things rather casual when she attended the Kung Fu Panda 2 photocall, in a beige flared mini dress by Ferragamo. The dress is perfect for the gorgeous weather and Angelina still looks extremely glamorous in it. She wore her hair in loose waves and accessorized the dress with an emerald bracelet and ring, Ferragamo beige flats and a tan waist belt.
Neutral colours were extremely popular at this year’s festival but there were just a few celebrities that opted for a bit of colour on the red carpet. Actress Gong Li wore a beautiful aubergine coloured strapless gown with embellished bodice by Roberto Cavalli while Gaia Bermani Amaral wowed on lookers in a deep blue, floor-length sequinned dress, also by Roberto Cavalli. US actress Linda Cardellini kept with the colour blocking trend and opted for a fuchsia Alberta Ferretti empire cut dress with capped sleeves and feminine chantilly lace detailing.
The Cannes Film Festival is the number one place to spot the biggest celebrities wearing the biggest designers. We’ve got a few suggestions of our own if you fancy re-creating any of the looks.
