How To Wear Neon The Right Way

asos_neonIf there is one trend you want to get right this spring, it’s wearing neon. Get it right and you could look as fab as any celebrity down the red carpet.

Get it wrong and you could look like an over-excited teeny bopper camouflaging themselves in every part of neon clothing they can find and ending up looking like a box of highlighters, basically, not good.
When it comes to neon the trick is to not over-do it, have no more than one feature piece and you’ll be wearing it just right.

Angelina looked both striking and elegant at this year’s BAFTA’s in this black Georgio Armani Priveé dress with a bold yellow neon slash down the front. Angelina always looks amazing in black so to add a fun neon twist really helps her look up to date with trends and fun and vivacious.

Lady Gaga seems able to do no wrong with her outfits, getting praised for stripping down to her underwear on stage and having amazing dance outfits, so it’s no surprise she stepped out in these pink Louis Vuitton neon leggings, contrasting well with her platinum hair and black leather jacket.

Bravely going for an all over neon look, Rachel Stevens looks amazing on the red carpet in this figure hugging skimpy neon yellow dress which compliments her complexion brilliantly making her look even more tanned and more stunning than usual.

topshop_neonStyleClone Lady Gaga: For a funky rave feel why not try these pink hotpants from Topshop, at £6 you could afford to buy the orange and turquoise pairs too!

asos_neonStyleClone Rachel Stevens: If you want something a little less ‘red carpet’ and a little more ‘club dancefloor’ then try this Ted Baker halterneck dress at £65.

With neon making its appearance in clothes, accessories and shoes there’ll be lots of options to make it work for you. Just stick to the rules, don’t use too many different items and if you do choose to go for the ‘all over’ look then please, please, just stick to one colour!
