London Fashion Week is Just Around the Corner: Spring/Summer 2014 Schedule Announced!
Although we’ve been enjoying some splendid weather in the UK and have been enjoying our tiny dresses, shorts and maxi skirts, 2014’s summer trends are about to hit the airwaves!
Just two months away, this September will see the biggest names in the fashion world debuting their Spring/Summer 2014 collections on the runway. I feel the excitement already!
One Hell of a Fashion-Packed Day
All eyes are on Monday, which will be the fourth day in. Wait for it… Tom Ford, Christopher Kane, Erdem, Burberry Prorsum and Nicole Farhi will all be shown. I think it’s fair to say that I will be sitting back gawking at my laptop screen watching the live streams all day, as I did last year.
It’ll be interesting to see Nicole Farhi’s collection, considering we broke the news that the brand has entered administration. I wonder what we’ll see there…
Crazy For Christopher Kane
Christopher Kane is always a fantastic designer to look out for. The last Spring/Summer 2013 London Fashion Week is when I first discovered Kane’s talents. I adored his unconventional, daring designs. He’s never afraid to take risks when it comes to fashion and they always seem to pay off. Last year, Kane even remarked that the pastel colours he used were “colours that make you feel a bit sick”. Perhaps not the first thing you’d expect a designer to comment about their collection but it made sense. The combination of sweet, pastel colours with unexpected, black strips everywhere which distort the look as well as a Frankenstein t-shirt that came out of nowhere, really did display Kane’s alternate mindset.
London Fashion Weekend- The Place To Be
If you’re not an A-lister in the fashion industry, fear not as London Fashion Weekend will follow Fashion Week. Every year, the day is a great experience for everyone who loves their fashion. Running from the 19th to 22nd September at Somerset House, several types of tickets are available to buy but you have the option to watch fashion shows that combine either trends or a collection from a designer as well as indulge in discounted designer shopping. Oh, and there’s always a goodie bag filled with treats. Take it from me, it’s worth it. Tickets are available on www.londonfashionweekend.co.uk
