Party season is here and as we all get ready to fill our stomachs with all the tasty food out there, anyone spared a thought on what you’ll wear. I bet your social calendar will be full with Christmas parties over this week; the work one, the friends one, the family one, the neighbours one so obviously it is important to make that extra effort on a special occasion. For ladies, a nice party dress if you’re going out or a sparkly top and jeans if your indoors is really quite simple however the dilemma is always for men.

For my husband one of the important Christmas parties has to be his work one. We always have to go shopping to find him the right outfit for him to look good. When shopping we think about practicality as well style. He often likes to stay clear of shirts as he wear them all the time at work and sometimes feels a little overdressed. Instead he prefers to go casual but still smart so we went shopping last week to find him an outfit for his work do.

Before we went shopping, I decided to take some tips from this video from Marks and Spencer. Quite often videos like these are aimed at women but this time Marks and Spencer is giving us some helpful tips on what to wear to a Christmas party for men. Where you want to casual or smart, it looks as though M&S have got things covered…

So you’re probably asking the question what did we buy in the end? Well, as my husband loves casual we decided to go for this chunky Burgundy Crew Neck Textured Panelled Jumper from Autograph for only £28 (bargain as it was in the sale!). He teamed them up with his favourite jeans and some smart shoes, perfect for the blustery weather and the Christmas sparkle!
