Florence Welch opens the Harrods sale

Christmas has only just passed but the annual sales have already started, and prestigious London department store, Harrods, officially opened theirs in style with a performance from Florence and The Machine.

Arriving at the store in a Harrods trademark Green double-decker bus, Florence Welch wore a floor-length, black and silver fur Chanel cape which looked absolutely divine. Underneath, she wore a sheer charcoal dress and pretty lace gloves, giving off a distinct luxe Winter look. She disembarked from the bus alongside two Harrods attendants, carrying shopping bags.

The singer was joined by her band and gave a haunting acoustic performance of ‘What The Water Gave Me,’ to the crowds that had been gathering since the night before.

In the past, the likes of Jerry Hall and Lizzy Jagger, Amanda Holden and Lily Allen have all opened the boxing day sale while Eva Herzigova was the last celeb to appear at the event in 2010. She posed for photographs and walked up and down a red carpet outside the department store wearing a pink strapless dress.

This was the first time in 177 years that a live performance has opened the Harrods sale and we certainly think this could be the start of a brand new Boxing Day sale tradition.
