Remember yesterday we reported it was announced that Elizabeth Hurley is now engaged to Austrailian cricket star, Shane Warne?.  Well, apart from the speculation on who will design her wedding dress, we were also excited to see the famous engagement ring.

Pictures posted on the Daily Mail, show Elizabeth Hurley ‘corker’ of a rock made from sapphire diamond which has a striking resemblance to the royal wedding ring worn by Kate Middleton.  Many have critisised Liz for copying Kate’s engagement ring which was once Princess Diana’s, however I think this shows that the Kate Middleton fever is still in full swing and even high profile celebrities like Liz Hurley want to copy her look.

However intentional it was, the ring given to Liz Hurley by her fiancé is definitely a rock and half and looks great on her slim and elegant fingers.

Shane Warne popped the question to Elizabeth Hurley on Friday night in St. Andrews, Scotland at the Old Course Hotel. An onlooker said “Shane proposed over dinner and it was fairly public, not a private affair. He didn’t get down on one knee, but when it was announced the other guests in the restaurant stood up and applauded. Everyone there was absolutely delighted.”

Now that the engagement has been officially announced I am pretty sure Liz will be busy looking for a potential designer to design her wedding dress. Will it be her long time friend Donatella Versace who designed her last dress or will she follow on from the Kate Middleton fever and keep things British by getting her dress designed by Alexander McQueen?
