Blogger Style: Sarah From ‘We Shop Therefore We Are’

Style Clone’s latest style crush comes in the form of the gorgeous Sarah, writer of the fashion blog ‘We Shop Therefore We Are’. Sarah lives in Glasgow, Scotland, and started up her blog to ‘indulge her love of clothes’. Her blog contains everything from her latest fashion buys and outfit posts to recent outings and events.

She has challenged me to create a look she posted during the festive season, here. I’m really glad she chose this, as I think it will be a great outfit to recreate for evenings out in Spring. The beaded jacket is such an elegant and glamourous statement piece, and is a really easy garment to take from one season to the next. For Spring/Summer, it would work well as a light, loose cover up for all those parties and barbecues, and it would make the perfect addition to any holiday wardrobe against glistening tanned skin!  Teaming it with an all black silhouette really sets it off to its full potential though, so top marks to Sarah for a simple yet sophisticated evening look!

Sarah wears a beaded jacket from A Wear, a skirt by Urban Renewal at Urban Outfitters and shoes from Office.

To recreate this outfit, start of with a simple silhouette of all black. Go for a camisole top, opaque tights and a leather skirt for an additional texture and rock chick edge. Slip on some black heels, the chunkier the better! For the beaded jacket, go for something that suits your body shape. For hourglasses, a fitted style will accentuate your curves beautifully. If you have a boyish frame, opt for one with floaty sleeves and a looser fit to add shape or if you want to show off your arms to catch the rays, go for something with cute little cap sleeves. To gear this look more towards spring/summer, take away the tights and brave your legs bare! Instead of heels wear delicate sandals, and go for softer, neutral colours over black. If you want to take this in a more casual direction, frayed denim shorts will give a fun twist for the summer months.

If you like this look and would like to see more of Sarah’s outfits, be sure to take a look at her blog!
