Anne Hathaway’s Oscars 2011 Dresses: 8 costume changes in 1 night!
Actress Anne Hathaway has come a long way in her acting career, after her role in The Devil Wears Prada, she was propelled into A list acting royaly and it was announced late last year that she would present this year’s Oscars ceremony alongside James Franco.
The 28 year old worked the red carpet in a strapless red Valentino complete with ruffled train. It was rumoured that she would make at least 5 outfit changes during the night, but Anne surpassed this, making a total of 8 costume changes during her presenting stint.
Anne’s first on-stage outfit was a Givenchy haute couture strapless chiffon gown, with embellished bodice from their 2009 collection. Her second on-stage outfit was a Lanvin black tuxedo which she wore as she impersonated her co-host James Franco. She wore matching black trousers and a Lanvin white shirt along with Brian Atwood pumps covered in Swarovski crystals which added a feminine touch to the slightly masculine outfit. She wore her hair in a flirty and fun high ponytail.
Next up, Anne took on a slightly gothic inspired style with a custom made Vivienne Westwood corseted ball gown with embroidered lace and sequins. She accessorized the dress with Tiffany jewellery and Jimmy Choo heels. The presenter had fun in her fourth outfit which was an Oscar de la Renta 2010 one shouldered gown with 1920s inspired beaded tassles.
As if all of those gowns weren’t enough, Anne then changed into a burgundy Spring 2011 Atelier Versace gown with bustier beading and draping, which she wore again later in the evening to the Governors Ball. Keeping with the colour pop trend that is huge right now, Anne took to the stage in a purple sapphire Giorgio Armani Privé Spring/Summer 2011 gown made from luminescent duchesse satin, with a fitted bodice and high back slit.
For her grand finale, Anne dazzled in a slinky and very sultry Tom Ford dress with long sleeves and black lace embellishment. With her gorgeous slim figure, this dress was perfect for Anne and was a great way to top off her ever changing wardrobe. Most girls don’t ever get to wear a designer couture dress in their life, so Anne is one very lucky girl!
