Street Style: Clashing Florals As Modelled By Amy

Submitted by on Wednesday, 9 June 2010 | No Comment

Florals are always huge at this time of year, but with a trend that’s so popular, how can you make it look different? Amy here shows us how she mixes up her floral prints for a different take on the girly trend. Rather than opting for the usual ditsy print dress or skirt, she has gone for a pair of floral leggings in a subtle print and teamed them with a basic jersey tank top. Amy has then added a floral floaty scarf with a painterly pastel print, and bangles to complement the colours. This look is so easy to wear and is perfect for those of you who don’t want to go too girly with your florals, and is great for the festival season.

Amy wears leggings and vest top from Topshop, scarf by River Island and sandals by Desire.

To recreate Amy’s look, go for a subtle floral on the leggings, or stick to a pattern on a black background. Team these with a block colour vest in either white or a neutral shade of grey or taupe. Add a long lightweight scarf or pashmina round the neck in a pale colour with a bright pastel print. Accessorise with chunky bangles in pastel shades, and wear gladiator sandals to toughen the look up more.

For a different twist on the look, swap the leggings for some floral denim jeans, and swap your tank top for a breezy oversize tunic top. Wear with this season hottest wooden heeled shoes, and a floral scarf in your hair for a funky look. Add a pair of floral framed sunglasses for the ultimate flower power, and your ready for any Summer festival. Though you may want to swap your heels for some wellies!
