50’s Lingerie Trend at Topshop

We’ve seen fringed skirts of the 1920s, and hair-bands from the 30s and now the 1950s is taking hold of our wardrobe via a new Topshop lingerie collection inspired by the era.

Topshop ‘Bralets’

The new ‘bralets’ in store are bras that extend down towards the bottom of your ribs. The style was particularly popular in the fifties and now Topshop are bringing the underwear pieces back in full form.

The collection includes floral, lace and paisley bralets, all starting from £20. Selected styles are also available in short and long-line options to cater for all body shapes and sizes. Our favourite bralet in the collection has to be the vintage look lace bralet for £20, which is in-keeping with the lace trends of the season and would be perfect on a night out.

How to Wear Them

Wear them under sheer tops to inject some colour into an outfit, or if you have a body to die for, wear them on their own with a pair of dressy jeans for a jaw dropping evening look.

Wearing underwear as outerwear is one of the new and innovative trends of 2010; but if you’re not quite ready to bare all, layer your favourite bralet over a classic white t-shirt for a cute, but reserved, day-time look.
