Hot Summer Trend: Top 5 Tulip Skirts

Submitted by on Monday, 30 March 2009 | 2 Comments

With summer fast approaching all the shops are shipping out gorgeous tulip shaped skirts and dresses. Whether you want something fun and easy for a day out shopping or something a bit dressier for a night out, you’ll be able to find something that works.

I have tracked down five of the best and all under £40 you’ll be hard pushed to find a reason not to invest in at least one!

Number 5

primarktulipskirt2

This floral skirt from Primark, only £11 is easy on the purse and would be great for day wear but can also be glammed up with some chunky gold bangles for a night out with the girls. It’s light a fresh and unlike some skirts, you can actually walk in it without looking like a penguin.

Number 4

floralbay

This Floral dress from Bay Trading with its peachy pattern makes it warm but too not bright. It would work best with bare legs or nude tights with strappy heels, with a busy pattern like this it’s best not to accessorise too much and you don’t want to draw all the attention away from the dress. At £40 it’s the priciest of the lot but not to be looked over!

Number 3

purplebay

It’s a similar purple skirt from Bay Trading costing £20. What really makes this skirt different in the bow on the front. This simple addition instantly makes it more girly and fun. Purple is going to be very important this season so this could be a great feature item to your wardrobe!

Number 2

photoshop-flower-brushes

This funky dotty floral patterned dress from New Look for £28. It’s figure hugging and will show off your curves and clinch in at your waist highlighting the naturally slimmest part of your body. It’s very similar to the dresses worn a lot by Girls Aloud and will be perfect this summer.

And our Number 1 spot again goes to New Look!

purplelep_newlook

This time in the form of a leopard dress which is a vibrant purple, with a high-waisted belt and defined cups to bring out your cleavage! At only £28 it’s the perfect party dress. Team it with sky-high heels and black tights and you’ll be ready to go.

I don’t wear dresses but you guys look like you had a great time. I do like them and I can’t decide which one I like the best.
