He’s the creative mind behind the ever popular Rihanna at River Island collaboration but now Rihanna’s head of design, Adam Selman is to launch his very own fashion label in early September.

Selman has largely remained behind the scenes as the stars main costumier for the past two years, after being introduced to her via his stylist boyfriend. He’s designed various costumes for her infamously risque tours and is well known for his ‘sexy’ style. Something that is clearly displayed in images of Rihanna scantily clad in her native Barbados, wearing a bejewelled bra top designed by Selman for Carnival.

Selman has hopes to debut his collection during New York Fashion week and as might be expected from the man who has created numerous ensembles for sex symbol Rihanna it is thought that his collection has a big focus on ‘sexy swimwear’ with an element of fantasy but he has specifically stated that the collection is still very wearable.

The collection itself is being kept very much under wraps until it’s official debut but we can perhaps get an idea of what to expect from some of Rihanna’s past Selman designed outfits. The slinky, white, low backed dress she wore to the 2012 VMA’s could hint towards a possible direction for the collection. Alternatively, we could look to the glamorous black corset and floor length skirt with a split to the thigh that Selman designed for the stars 2012 performance at the Victoria’s Secret show.

From the success that we have seen with the River Island collaboration, it could be assumed that Adam Selman will certainly not be short of interest for his new collection.

I love the pink and black leopard print Rihanna is wearing in the photo. Very hot. Selman is definitely a talented designer. I created a print similar to that the other day with Digital Fashion Pro that I want to design a dress with. But I do love how he played with the print especially the pants portion.
