Not only does she own one of the most lusted after wardrobes in the world with designers falling over themselves to dress her, but she’s living every little girls dream of becoming a real life princess. Now, only weeks after giving birth to the third in line to the British throne, Prince George, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, is about to up the fashion envy stakes yet again.

The Royal Baby Emerges!

It’s been reported that her husband and new dad, Prince William, has enlisted the help of the Queens personal jewellers, G.Collins and Sons, to design a bespoke diamond encrusted gift to commemorate the birth of their first child.

Seemingly Prince William is following not only in the age old male tradition of giving post birth gifts partners, but is following firmly in the footsteps of his father Prince Charles, who famously presented Princess Diana with gold jewellery after the birth of William. It is said the William has considered presenting another item of his mothers jewellery to his wife, as he did with her engagement ring, but it is thought that a bespoke, much more personal gift is more likely.

It is rumoured that Prince William is set on designing a brooch for Kate, and various sources have suggested the inclusion of a pink diamond, which would emulate a similar uncut pink diamond owned by his grandmother the Queen. With Kate’s undeniable fashion prowess and effortless style, a timeless piece like a brooch would be perfect, especially worn for state occasions.

There are a number of post birth gifts that are thought to be traditional and so, what would be Williams’s alternative if not a brooch?

Eternity Ring

Eternity rings are often given after the birth of a first child and with the Queens personal jewellers at hand, a diamond eternity ring would not be out of the question. This claw set full diamond eternity ring from G.Collins and Sons would be absolutely perfect.

Leather Tote Bag

Slightly less traditional but ideal for fashion conscious Kate, perhaps a designer changing bag? Aspinal of London, a personal favourite of the Duchess, have a range of leather tote bags that would be perfect to store everything a little prince could possibly need. Their Marylebone Tote in classic black would provide both a chic and a useful addition to any of the duchesses outfits.

Bespoke Dress

The Royal Baby Emerges!

Alternatively, William could always turn to one of his wife’s favourite designers Jenny Packham whose bespoke cornflower blue polka dot dress was chosen by Kate for her first public appearance with the new baby prince. While that particular dress was bespoke and thus unavailable to purchase, a dress in a similar shape would be perfect for the duchesses enviable post pregnancy figure

With a post pregnancy figure to die for, a doting royal husband and a beautiful new baby, it would seem that things just keep getting better and better for the Duchess.
