Royal Baby News: His Royal Highness is Named…
Drum roll please… Prince George of Cambridge! His full name is George Alexander Louis and was confirmed by a Palace press release yesterday.
George was in fact also the favourite name with the betting agencies with odds of 2/1, and was the name of the Prince’s great Grandfather, King George VI. The names James, Alexander, Richard and Louis closely followed in the favourite stakes, with Alexander and Louis featuring as middle names.
Baby George was born in the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s hospital and weighing eight pounds and six ounces, ouch, well done Kate!
Even though she had been through an exhausting labour, Will and Kate knew that they had the world’s media eye watching over them, and understood that they had an obligation to create a moment to go down in history. No pressure then.
But, as always, Kate rose magnificently to the occasion. She looked both comfortable and stylish as she emerged from the double doors, holding her little bundle protectively. She wore nude wedges with a low heel with a bespoke Jenny Packham dress in sky blue with polka dots, perhaps a nod to Princess Diana’s outfit on the very same occasion, who wore a green dress with polka dots.

Kate seems destined to follow in Diana’s footsteps as a Princess of the people, which is shown by how so many of the public really immersed themselves in these moments of the young royals’ lives. Despite looking a little tired, Kate glowed with pleasure, and when they left with Prince William driving the car, they looked like a very contented family unit.
