Royal Baby News: Kate Middleton’s Leaves Hospital in a Polka Dot Dress – A Tribute to Princess Diana?
As Kate and William leave the hospital where an adorable royal baby boy was born, a comparison can be made between Kate’s attire and Diana’s, 31 years ago…
As the world awaited the appearance of the royal baby, Kate and William stepped out of St Mary’s Hospital looking joyous as ever. Kate even looked glowing! Nobody would ever guess she’d just given birth…
She wore a custom-designed Jenny Packham, empire line dress in a sky blue shade with white polka dots. Along with the dress, she wore some sensible cream wedges to ensure maximum comfort but I have to say, it’s impossible to fault Kate here. Even her hair looked as if she’d just had it styled and blow-dried! Props to her after going through one of the most amazing, yet exhausting experiences… well ever!
From a Princess to a Duchess
3 decades ago, Diana also opted for a polka dot dress from Catherine Walker right after she gave birth to Prince William. Diana’s dress was longer and had cuffed, three-quarter length sleeves, as well as a white border around the neckline. She also wore patent red flats with a bow and sported her iconic, short haircut. In spite of this, a strong comparison can be made with the shades of blue/green as well as the polka dots. Whether or not Kate purposely made a decision to go for something similar to Diana is not clear yet, but either way I think it was nice to see the similarities.
Standing next to her husband who wore a crisp, blue shirt, the pair looked happier than ever and that’s amazing to see. The best thing the pair wore were huge grins as they brought a new royal to the world!
