London based publishing house, Condé Nast, who are famed for producing the likes of British Vogue, Tatler and GQ, have revealed plans to launch The Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design ready for September 2012.

This is brilliant news for those that are dreaming of a career in the fashion and design industries. Those interested in getting their foot in the door at the likes of Vogue magazine will be able to do so by applying for the year long foundation course or 10-week intensive course, based on the magazine itself.

The college will take 300 paying students in it’s first year, who will benefit from the Vogue based course as well as a House & Garden interior design type course and an MA-level qualification which will follow in the near future. Students will also be offered course in history, print and digital Journalism and brand marketing.

The entire school will have an education board and fashion advisors on hand to help throughout studies, while Susie Forbes, editor of Easy Living and formerly of Vogue, has been appointed as principal of the college.

Talking about her new role and the new college, Forbes said: “It makes perfect sense for Condé Nast to open its College doors in London, the fashion capital of the world. With access to some of the sharpest and most creative minds shaping the fashion, design and interiors industries today, we aim to educate students to the highest level.”

Nicholas Coleridge, managing director of Condé Nast UK also commented, saying: “Condé Nast is perfectly placed to enter the world of education. We look forward to becoming the go-to academy for students from Britain and further afield.”

We think the new fashion and design college is going to be absolutely amazing for those that want to get into the industries. Tell us what you think and whether you’ll be applying, on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Launching fashion and designing college is an amazing aim. Students are those who pursue fashion just like adults. However, there’s little shop which aim at design for students. It is good news for students as well as people who are seeking for a position like this.
