2011 really is the year for Royal and Celebrity weddings. We’ve had the biggest and the best from Kate Middleton and new hubby Prince William and we saw the next best thing from the world’s biggest Supermodel Kate Moss followed by a secret wedding between Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig and another Royal knee’s up for Zara Phillip’s marriage to Mike Tindall.

It’s a lot to take in quite frankly. There has been a smattering of celebrity weddings from the likes of UK based Abbey Clancy and of course pop sensation Lily Allen, but now it’s the turn of US reality TV superstar Kim Kardashian as she is set to tie the knot with beau Kris Humphries. The invitations have already been sent out ahead of the ceremony on August 20th but one huge wedding secret has slipped and it has been revealed that Vera Wang is designing the dress.

Kim tried to keep the details of the designer secret but obviously failed in her mission. Commenting on her blog on Monday, Kim said: “Vera has been a close family friend for a long time and we had talked about this moment for years, so when it came to picking my wedding dress designer she was the first person I thought of. No one designs gowns the way she does! I know that Vera can make my dream come true and create the most perfect gown for my special day.”

As a close personal friend, Wang was the perfect choice for Kim, but the fact that the designer created little sister Khloé’s wedding dress may have also played a big part in the decision making. We personally can’t wait to see Kim’s dress!
