Ashlee Simpson spotted in California in casual shorts and vest top: Get her look!

Since Ashlee Simpson split from Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, we haven’t heard or seen very much of her. The couple are said to be taking time out of the spotlight in order to raise their little boy, Bronx, in a normal un-showbiz life, but singer Ashlee was recently snapped by papparazzi as she picked up Bronx from school in Sherman Oaks, California.

Ashlee looked extremely cool and casual as she walked with a close friend. She wore cut off hot-pants, Alternative Apparel white burn-out vest top and a green patterned kimono cardigan. She acccessorized with a beaded cross necklace, black hat and sandals.

Life as a seperated couple seems to be working well for Ashlee and Pete and they are clearly sharing custody of their son well. Earlier in the week, Pete was spotted heading to a local Starbucks with his little boy in tow.

After taking a bit of time out of the limelight, Ashlee is easing herself back in with the help of big sister Jessica. The two sisters have joined forces to create a pre-teen clothing range which will be an extension of Jessica Simpson’s own clothing collection. The line, of which Ashlee and Jessica will be co-creative directors for, will launch later on in the year. The collection will include knitted tops and shrunken kits, hoodies, graphic tees, drawstring pants, footwear and outerwear.

Talking about her part in designing the range, Ashlee told WWD: “My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion.”
