Kate Middleton’s Engagement Ring Bumps Up Sapphire Sales

Since their engagement 3 months ago, everyone in the fashion world has been going a little bit Kate Middleton crazy.  However it is Kate’s style that has mainly hit the fashion new headlines. With the retailers trying to copy Kate Middleton’s engagement dress to famous designers complimenting her style, Miss Middleton is definitely one to watch out for in the style stakes.

Apart from her dresses, it would appear that that the blue sapphire gemstone engagement ring has been getting a fair amount of attention and high end jewellers have seen a dramatic increase in sales for sapphire rings since the royal engagement was announced.

“November was a record month by far, December was a record month by far, January, still a record month by far,” said Michael Arnstein, president of the Natural Sapphire Company.

The online sapphire retailer, says he has Kate Middleton’s 18-carat Garrard sapphire stone to thank for the 300% increase in sales and sees her as, “a walking, talking fashion advertisement for the gemstone.”

What do think of Kate’s style?  Do you agree with Mr Arnstein?  Leave your comments below…
