Paris Fashion Week 2013: Christian Dior’s Top 5 Best Dressed Celebrities
The fashionable elite gathered yesterday on the front row for the Christian Dior show during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.
Yesterday, on the first of July, Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week saw some of the biggest names in fashion gather for the stand out design house of the day: Christian Dior, who showcased their Autumn/Winter 2013-2014 collection. The collection itself featured sophisticated over the knee skirts, flirty sheer fabrics and sexy silhouettes. Also to walk down the runway were a few stunning, full length evening gowns; no wonder it was such a favourite with the celebrities. In attendance were Carine Roitfeld, Anna Dello Russo and Gemma Arteton, but here are my top five, best dressed celebrities in attendance.
5. Lea Seydoux
The beautiful French actress turned up in one of the most colourful outfits of the day. She made colour blocking look effortless in a red shift dress with asymmetric peplum, cobalt blue structured handbag and neon yellow strappy heeled sandals. She gets brownie points for injecting some fun into her look, whilst still looking chic and polished.
4. Anna Wintour
The editor of American Vogue showed her fashion credentials in an over-the-knee fitted dress with black and white pattern, keeping on trend and glamorous. She carried off the outfit with her trademark bob and oversized sunglasses. The details of the capped shoulders on the dress, nude heels and chunky necklace finish the look off beautifully.
3. Jennifer Lawrence
As the current muse of Christian Dior designer Raf Simons, Jennifer Lawrence had a lot to live up to. This young actress enjoys having fun with her fashion and has quite an eclectic style. At the Dior show, Lawrence opted for a look straight off their haute couture runway, featuring a blush pink organza crop top paired with a half tailored trouser half skirt concoction. While not being one of the most wearable looks on the front row she definitely gets respect for really going all out, and where else to do that than a haute couture show?
2. Marion Cotillard
As another Christian Dior muse, Marion Cotillard turned up looking as beautiful and classy as ever, with classic French styling which makes it look oh so effortless. This navy prom dress with white and pink floral detail and lace inserts was a perfect summer look. She added an edge to her outfit with chunky, metallic wedge heels, which looked impossibly high to walk in but a great addition to such a feminine summer dress.
1. Olivia Palermo
But, stealing away the number one spot, wearing the crown for best dressed in the front row, is Olivia Palermo. This blossoming fashion icon put her best foot forward, wearing a white blazer cinched in at the waist with a glittering embellished belt. Peeking from underneath was a shimmery, metallic skirt, and the outfit was completed with pointy black stilettos, chunky metal wrist cuffs and a white clutch. Her dark eye liner and simply swept up hairstyle added to her effortlessly cool look. There isn’t much I wouldn’t do to raid through this lady’s wardrobe.
