We may be enjoying the summer months but we know that in the blink of an eye, Autumn would have crept upon us and we’ll start thinking about the cosy clothing we can start stocking our wardrobes with.

Our favourite retailer Topshop have released their new lookbook for their Autumn/Winter 2010 collection, so here are the delights that await us in the cold months of the year.

The Cape

We know your wardrobes will be stuffed with chunky knits, scarves and plenty of pieces that you can layer and layer until you can’t layer anymore in order for you to stay warm in the cold weather. But there’s really no need when the cape is all you really need to keep warm and stylish. Going for a minimal aesthetic look, the camel cape from Topshop has clean lines and no fuss and it does exactly what it says on the tin..or label?

Faux Fur

Nobody wants to see cute little animals harmed in the name of fashion, so Topshop have great alternatives to real fur with their faux fur pieces. Bringing the great outdoors to your wardrobe, the fur is so soft and luxurious that you won’t dare to be without it and faux fur coats will protect you against the harsh weather.

Knitwear

Where would we be without knitwear in the Autumn and Winter? Topshop will have a great range of knitwear in store ready for the hoards of shoppers stocking up their winter wardrobes. Topshop have styled much of their knitwear collection with tweed and plaid patterns for the urban girl headed for the great outdoors.

Sheepskin

Sheepskin is no longer for the rosy cheeked farmers of the world, it’s completely back in fashion thanks to the runways and highstreet retailers. If you make one big investment for your winter wardrobe, make sure it is for sheepskin. Tan coloured sheepskin is not only fashionable but you’ll be warmer than toast while wearing it. It’s great for channeling a casual country look.

The Autumn/Winter lookbook also includes plenty of leather in tan, beige and other earty tones, perfect for bringing a natural vibe to your wardrobe. Smart, sophisticated blouses also make an appearance in the range as well as furry detailing on items from handbags to shoes. The heeled loafer will also have a big presence this autumn as their high-heels give a more stylish twist to country inspired outfits.
