Trend 2010: Combat’s are back!

Cast your mind back to the mid 1990’s and the fashion trend of the decade, combat trousers, will quickly come back to haunt you. Who would have thought that the questionable fashion trend would reappear in 2010, but this time with a welcome twist.

This time around, thankfully, the combat trouser is much more sophisticated, fashionable and more fitting as they now come in a great skinny style. The reincarnation of the combat trousers are much smarter and a great alternative to jeggings, leggings and skinny jeans. They can be worn as a casual day time outfit with flat pumps or work some heels with them for the perfect partying outfit.

They first cropped up on Net-a-Porter.com where the J Brand Houlihan low-rise skinny cargo pants became available for £245. Not bad if you’ve got the cash but luckily you won’t have to save your hard earned money as they are slowly becoming available on our very own highstreet at much more reasonable prices.

Of course, ASOS have got in on the action with their Khaki Utility Pocket Trousers for just £28.

These Vero Moda Skinny Combat Pants from ASOS, £32, come in a great Safari colour. They are perfect for the summer months without being too hot and restricting.

The trousers can come in a great range of colours, specifically navy and black but the khaki works brilliantly in the military trend. Miss Selfridge have a great pair of Khaki Combat Skinny Trousers on sale right now for £35 as well as a more relaxed, less skinny version for £30.

Topshop are currently working the combat trend into their shorts and Cargo Pocket Leggings for £22 which come in a slimming black.

Dorothy Perkins are offering a great cropped version with their Khaki Sateen Crop Trousers for £28.

Whichever style of combat trousers you decide to try, the skinny remodelling of the trend means that it’s now cool to wear combat trousers again!
