If you have been paying attention to the British highstreet, you would have noticed that New Look have been working extremely hard to up their game in the fashion stakes. Recently, their collections have become much more catwalk inspired and are beginning to rival the likes of H&M and Topshop for the number one spot in the highstreet fashion store league.

The company recently treated a hoarde of UK bloggers to a day at their Spring/Summer 2010 press day where they were able to view the up coming collection for themselves. The collection is full of beautiful colours including nudes, pinks, greys and blues which are all very flattering for the warmer months. The whole collection is split into sections including ‘Blush,’ ‘Idol,’ and ‘Sicilian Siren,’ which all house their own unique style.

Blush consists of a range of spring/summer essentials. Of course, florals are back, as is the nautical look which tends to come around every year. The collection is full of girly, fun and floaty pieces in pinks and pastels.

The ‘Idol,’ collection has a distinct ‘rock chick’ edge to it, which is something that New Look has been doin very well recently. The pieces include lots of studded fabrics, lots of black, leaopard print and fierce, strong items. The items are covered in intricate embellishments and plenty of the pieces have been ‘slashed’ and knotted to give it that grunge feel. The ‘Sicilian Siren,’ also has a slight edge to it but it mainly concentrates on black and reds to create a dominant outfit.

The entire collection is the most fashionable and up to date collection that New Look has ever had, the pieces are going to be flying off the rails. 2010 will be the year that New Look really takes off into the fashion world. Keep your eyes peeled for the new Giles Deacon collaboration which will also be appearing in 2010.
